Vestique

Ever wanted to shop in a small boutique, ensuring you have a pretty unique style, without actually going into one? Your wish is my command! Enter Vestique, a small online boutique. The clothes are adorable, affordable, and best of all, your friend won’t be saying, “Did you get that at Express? I totally have that!”

Their clothes, accessories, and shoes all have a trendy yet vintage vibe, which I absolutely adore. I also love that they include a “Gameday” section. (I’ll ignore the fact that they only have east coast schools. Maybe I can ask them to add UK to that list?)

The girls who own Vestique had a shared love of fashion in college, so they followed their dreams. I fully support that decision, and by the looks of it, so do about 3200 other people who have liked their Facebook page. And while I don’t want you to stop reading my blog in favor of theirs, I should mention Ruffles & Lace will answer all your Vestique shopping questions 🙂

As I’ve just discovered Vestique, I can’t comment on how their clothes/shoes fit just yet, but I’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Missoni for Target

Crazy women. Websites shutting down. Empty shelves. What does this all mean? No, not Black Friday. It means Missoni, the famous Italian designer, just put out a line for Target, people!!

Several years ago, Target started something called the “Go” collections (I don’t know if Target has called it that or just the general public, so don’t quote me), where famous designers would produce a Target-friendly line, and it would only be around for a month. Designers have included Isaac Mizrahi, William Rast, Alexander McQueen, and Jean Paul Gaultier, just to name a few.

But NEVER has it been this insane. I heard about the Missoni line just before the commercial released…I know you’ve seen it – it’s the one with the 007 vibe. Missoni’s commercial features crazy, zigzag prints that have become their legacy. While some of the pieces are a little too high fashion and would look stupid on the streets of Lexington, there are several wearable pieces, like the adorable cardigan and skirt below. Not only that, but their home decor pieces are FABULOUS, maybe even more so than the clothes.

Missoni’s dresses normally go for thousands, while a simple scarf costs around $200 (see Neiman Marcus). The entire Missoni’s Target line is well under $100. No wonder people are going crazy!

The only problem? You may have missed your chance! The Missoni line launched yesterday and not online did Target’s website crash, several stores have been wiped clean. I hope to check out the Lexington store tomorrow and get some intel from a friend who supposedly went for the launch. Many stores may be getting another shipment, but some may not. Many people bought items just to resell on Ebay, which seems totally unfair, but I guess that’s what our world has come to.

Godspeed, other Missoni fans. I know I’ll need it!

I guess the 80s really are making a comeback.

I’ve seen them everywhere lately: on TV, on the runway, in fashion magazines, even on well-dressed Lexingtonians. Yep, I’m talking about colored jeans. Jeans in pretty much any color were popular in the 70s and 80s, but this time around, I think we’re doing them right. Most are available as skinny jeans or jeggings, and to be worn correctly, they need to be paired with a feminine, neutral-colored top, simple accessories, and a great pair of heels or boots.

As this is my first Fashion post, I have to state that I hope to keep all shopping recommendations in a reasonable price range. The A-List is not dedicated to women making $200,000 a year. It’s for women like my friends and I, who shop at regular stores for regular people. So, here are some fabulous colorful jean choices from our favorite, 20s-appropriate, stores!
